The Bobrick B-68616.99 Grab Bar is intended for use in tubs, showers and toilet stalls where compliance with barrier-free accessibility guidelines like ADA requires grab bars that measure 24 inches along the width of the space and 36 inches along the depth of the space. This ultra strong unit has the ability to bear up to 900 pounds of weight on each of its two bars when installed with 1-1/2 inches of clearance from the mounting surface. The strength of the unit is owed to the 18-gauge, type-304 stainless steel tubing and the three, 1/8 of an inch thick mounting flanges included in the design. The grab bars measure 1-1/2 inches in diameter and have a satin peened gripping surface to make the bars easier to hang onto tightly. Once you have installed the grab bars, stainless steel mounting flange covers snap down onto the mounting plates to keep the hardware concealed.
